As the world becomes more integrated in the age of globalization, it is critical that every effort is made to overcome the barriers of language to global cooperation, collaboration and understanding.
In recent times there has been a massive investment in making mobile phones, PCs and Internet access as affordable and available to as broad a number of people on the planet as possible. As a result, one billion people now use the Internet on a regular basis across the world. However, the vast majority of the valuable content available through the Internet is in English only. There has been too much emphasis on networks and hardware to bridge the global digital divide, and not enough attention paid to making the content of the world available to as many people as possible.

By 2012, half of internet all users will be from Asia, yet information in their own language represents less than 14% of the internet. Something has to change.
The vast majority of the next billion users of the Internet will not be comfortable using English.
If the true potential of the earth’s population is to be achieved then everyone, everywhere should have access to all of the world’s knowledge, insights, experience and information in their own language.
