The first Asia Online portal was launched in beta in Thailand in late 2008. The Thai language portal continues to grow and is rapidly building to become a key portal in the Thai market. Portals in Indonesian, Malay, Tagalog, Vietnamese and Hindi are currently under development and scheduled for launch in 2009. Chinese, Japanese and Korean are scheduled for 2010.

Asia Online uses its industry leading translation technologies to translate vast amounts of English language content into Asian language. Asia Online is working to eliminate information poverty and deliver access to popular English content such as Wikipedia in local languages in each market.

Asia Online has been fortunate to attract two world famous linguistic explorers to host the mailing list and share their thoughts and insights with us.

Dr. Goover is a renowned world explorer and Dr. Weagle is a former linguistic professor.
